For sale at 3 Windows Gallery, Oatlands

Hello again! My lovely sister left for Hobart this morning, taking 10 necklaces and 1 wall hanging to a quirky little gallery in Oatlands on her way - thanks my gorgeous Beth!  I'm hanging to check out Oatlands again, (one day without kids) as there are some great little antique, clothing and homewares stores, plus an apparently award winning bakery....It's a nice dream anyway.  We have a 'Made with Love' market coming up on 7th May in Wynyard, so I m trying to make some mother's day goodies.  'Try' is the operative word, as the kiddies are still on easter break, so there's not alot of arty crafty goin on.  Them's the breaks!  I'm looking forward to my 'maker' spot at the Maker's Workshop on Thursday...a lovely little island of serene creative energy once a fortnight..aaahh bliss.

Maker's Workshop

Here's some pieces that I'm working on at the moment.  I spent the whole day yesterday working in one of the studios at the Maker's Workshop in Burnie.  It was a yucky rainy day, but there were still lots of visitors checking the place out.  I've only been a 'maker' there for a month, but I already feel a part of the place.  I'm there once a fortnight on Thursdays if anyone wants to come and say 'hello'!  I have to say it's weird sitting in a studio pod having people watch you work; maybe a little like visiting the zoo and watching animals at play.  A father and young daughter came over and chatted yesterday, and he was asking all sorts of question about my craft on behalf of his little one - it was so charming to see a dad investing time and interest in his little girl.  Actually, talking about sweet dads, mine surprised me by turning up to have a coffee with me.  Ah, love my sweet Dad xxx.

I did it!

Yay! I started a blog without any help from a computer literate person and I have to say I am proud of myself.  Anyway, I never thought I'd start my own blog, but it seems the most effective and easiest way for any artist to display their wares to the whole world (almost).  So ..here goes....

These pics are some of necklaces now available at 'Chille' - a beautiful gift/homewares store in the little coastal town of Wynyard, Tasmania. I am currently working on 4 different styles of necklace - pebbles, stones, mixed media and pendants.

I am also in the process of sending new work to a gorgeous store in Launceston and a funky little gallery in Oatlands, so I am extremely busy using any spare second to make more things (in between changing an few nappies, preparing children's snacks, loads of washing, etc.  Yes mums you know what I'm talking about.)  I have to say I am really anjoying being at home with my kids, whilst juggling the art business on the side. They grow up quick, so I am trying to savour these moments right now xx.
